China's spodumene imports surged by 68% in March 2024, reaching 383,600 tonnes, marking a significant monthly increase and a slight annual decrease according to Mysteel's analysis of customs data. Specifically, imports from Australia spiked by 73.7% month-on-month to 228,900 tonnes in March, while imports from Zimbabwe increased by 37.7% compared to the previous month. Overall, spodumene imports for the first quarter of 2024 totaled 1.19 million tonnes, showing a 9.2% increase from the previous year, as Mysteel reported.
