Shenzhen-listed Chinese manufacturer Youngy has announced plans to expand capacity at the Jiajika spodumene mine in Ganzi, Sichuan province. Its subsidiary, Rongda Lithium, signed a two-year raw ore transportation cooperation agreement with the local government of Kangding City for mineral processing outsourcing.
The expansion will add 350,000 tonnes/year of processing capacity at the mine site. The agreement allows Rongda to outsource beneficiation of mined ores, ensuring that annual shipments do not exceed the agreed amount. Youngy stated that this initiative aligns with its strategic goals in the lithium industry, aiming to enhance production efficiency and profitability. The Jiajika mine, which holds significant lithium reserves, currently has an ore mining capacity of 1.05 million tonnes/year and processes 450,000 tonnes/year.
