Nucor Tubular Products Marseilles has awarded Danieli Centro Tube a contract for a new orbital cut-off saw to enhance its existing 5K-ERW mill in Marseilles, Illinois. This advanced saw will efficiently cut welded tubes up to 6 5/8 inches in diameter and equivalent square and rectangular sections, with wall thicknesses reaching 3/8 inch, at speeds of up to 460 feet per minute. The upgrade aims to improve cutting quality and eliminate burrs, featuring automated setup and reduced maintenance needs. The installation is scheduled for completion by the end of Summer 2025.
