Australian lithium producer Liontown Resources has shipped its first cargo of spodumene concentrate from the Kathleen Valley lithium project to LG Energy Solution (LGES). The shipment, which is the largest to date at approximately 33,000 wet metric tonnes (wmt) with a grade of 5.2% lithium oxide, includes 11,000 wmt designated for LGES and the rest for a short-term customer. This marks Liontown's fourth shipment since production began in July. CEO Tony Ottaviano emphasized this shipment as a significant step in their long-term partnership with LGES, aiming to become a major lithium supplier globally.
