The Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction has decided to prolong the ban on scrap exports for an additional six months. This measure will continue to affect the export of waste, copper, aluminum, and lead scraps. Furthermore, the ban has been expanded to include ferrous scrap exports via both road and sea routes.
The purpose of this extension is to support local producers who are currently facing a shortage of scrap supply. By limiting the availability of scrap materials for export, the government hopes to increase the supply for domestic industries, thereby addressing the shortage and promoting the growth of local production.
