Japanese automaker Daihatsu is set to restart operations at its Kyushu and Osaka plants on May 6 and May 7, respectively. This move signifies a complete reopening of its domestic facilities. Following accusations of manipulating safety test results, Daihatsu halted all operations in December 2023. While partial operations resumed in February, most production facilities, including the significant plant in Osaka, remained shut. In January, Daihatsu had no production, and in February, it manufactured 6,692 units, significantly lower than the previous year's output. This decline contributed to decreases in Japan's overall car production in January and February compared to the same period the previous year.
