Gotion High-tech, the Chinese battery manufacturer, has announced plans to invest €2.51 billion ($2.6 billion) in the construction of two gigafactories located in Slovakia and Morocco. The Slovakian facility in Surany will receive an investment of €1.23 billion, while the Moroccan project will be funded with €1.28 billion. Both factories are expected to have a production capacity of 20 gigawatt-hours each and are in the early stages of development. The Moroccan project will be managed by Gotion Power Morocco S.A., while the Slovakian project will be implemented by GIB EnergyX Slovakia s.r.o. The investments aim to strengthen Gotion's global presence and cater to European market demands, although actual implementation is contingent on regulatory approvals and policy changes.
