China's steel exports have surged to 101.15 million tons from January to November 2024, marking a 22.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and surpassing last year's total of 90.26 million tons, according to the China Steel Association (CISA). In November alone, exports rose by 15.9% year-on-year, despite a 17% decline from October, totaling 9.28 million tons. Analysts attribute the strong export figures to concerns over potential tariffs from the newly elected U.S. President. With this momentum, total exports are expected to exceed the record of 110 million tons set in 2015.
