China has made substantial advancements in its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, adding 4.222 million charging points in 2024, a 25% increase from the previous year, according to the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA). This expansion includes 830,000 public charging points and 3.368 million private ones. As of December 2024, the total number of charging points reached 12.82 million, reflecting a 49% year-on-year increase. The growth is expected to continue with plans to add 3.62 million more charging points in 2025, aiming to enhance the adoption of new energy vehicles (NEVs) across the country.
