ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India plans to establish a 17.8 million tonnes per year integrated steel plant in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh. The project, announced by Lok Sabha MP C.M. Ramesh, is expected to create approximately 20,000 jobs and requires an investment of INR 1.4 trillion ($16.6 billion), developed in two phases. The first phase will involve a blast furnace capacity of 7.3 million tonnes per year with an initial investment of INR 700-800 billion, while the second phase aims to add an additional 10.5 million tonnes per year. The foundation stone is anticipated to be laid in January 2025.
