Billet prices in Tangshan, Hebei province, have increased by Yuan 50/tonne ($6.9/t) as of November 24, reaching Yuan 3,090/t including VAT. This rise follows a weekly output increase of 4,500 t/d among 23 monitored steelmakers, averaging 45,100 t/d due to some mills switching to billet production during maintenance. However, daily consumption among local re-rollers fell by 5,200 t/d to 55,800 t/d, prompting reduced procurement of semi-finished products. Additionally, total billet stocks held by re-rollers decreased by 48,500 tonnes to 588,500 tonnes during the week.
