On October 4, the Korea Trade Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel plates imported from China. The inquiry follows Hyundai Steel's request for anti-dumping duties, citing potential substantial damage to the domestic industry due to dumped imports, with a claimed dumping rate of 25.89%. The investigation will cover plates thicker than 4.75mm and wider than 600mm, with the review period spanning from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Five major suppliers accounted for nearly 59% of related shipments during this timeframe.
