Russian steelmaker MMK has successfully commissioned its new coke battery No. 12, which boasts an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of dry coke, making it the most powerful in the country. This project represents MMK's largest investment initiative in the past decade, amounting to nearly RUB 90 billion (approximately $1 billion).
The new coke battery is expected to satisfy 50% of the plant's coke requirements and will enable MMK to decommission three outdated batteries. The introduction of this advanced equipment marks a significant advancement in the company’s production capabilities, further enhancing its operational efficiency in the steelmaking process.
