Three billet deals were reported done by one Russian supplier for a total of 20,000 tonnes to Turkish merchant bar producers at base prices of $528-529/tonne cfr Turkish Black Sea ports. Freight was at around $20-22/t, market participants inform Kallanish. The said supplier typically sells with a premium for prompt shipment.
Market participants heard offers from another Russian billet supplier at $505-510/t fob Black Sea. As a result, Russian billet is assessed at $515-521/t fob Black Sea, up by $3/t compared to earlier last week. Turkish billet imports other than Russia and Iran origin were assessed at $555-560/t cfr, considering the India-origin material offers heard during the week
