Brazil-based electrical engineering and automation company WEG Group, in collaboration with Finnish industrial machine manufacturer METSO, has supplied a high-pressure iron ore crusher to ArcelorMittal Brazil, a subsidiary of global steelmaker ArcelorMittal. The new 500-kW high-pressure crusher is designed to generate intense pressure, transforming the feed material into the desired grain size, which will enable ArcelorMittal Brazil to effectively reduce the size of rocks and ores.
The advanced design features motors and strengthened bearings that minimize failures, ensuring greater reliability and availability of the crushers. This enhancement is expected to reduce maintenance downtime, resulting in increased operating times and a higher volume of processed ore, ultimately boosting productivity for the mining company.
Additionally, WEG emphasizes that the new crusher will operate more efficiently, optimizing energy use and reducing overall operating costs. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in mining technology for ArcelorMittal Brazil as it seeks to enhance its operational efficiency and productivity.
