Indian specialty steelmaker Vardhman Specialty Steel (VSSL) has approved a capital expenditure of INR 330 million ($3.95 million) to increase its steel melting shop capacity, according to the company's exchange filing.
The investment will help VSSL boost its billet production capacity by 25,000 tonnes per year. The additional capacity is expected to be completed by March 2026.VSSL plans to use its internal accruals to fund the expansion project.
The capacity addition is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its production capabilities and meet the growing demand for its specialty steel products. The expansion will enable VSSL to better serve its customers and maintain its position in the Indian specialty steel market.
