The Steel Division of the voestalpine Group has announced it will discontinue the business activities of its company, voestalpine Camtec GmbH, at the Linz site by the end of the 2025/26 business year. This decision comes in response to increased costs for energy and labor, coupled with significant price pressure from non-European competitors, primarily from China and India.
The discontinuation will affect 53 employees, who will be offered opportunities to transfer to other voestalpine business units in Linz. The company will provide individual support to help these employees with their professional reorientation. Voestalpine Camtec GmbH specializes in producing cams and maintenance-free sliding elements, primarily supplying the automotive and mechanical engineering industries.
