US raw steel production was 1,710,000 net tons in the week ending June 22, 2024, up 0.4% from the previous week when production was 1,704,000 net tons.

The capability utilization rate was 77.0% in the latest week, compared to 76.7% the prior week.

However, production was down 1.6% compared to the same period in 2023, when it was 1,738,000 net tons and the capability utilization rate was 77.3%.

Year-to-date production through June 22, 2024 was 42,204,000 net tons at a 76.4% capability utilization rate, down 2.7% from the same period in 2023.
