According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US domestic raw steel production reached 1.740 million net tons in the week ending May 10, 2025, with a capacity utilization rate of 77.5 percent. This marks a 0.9 percent increase from the previous week’s output of 1.725 million net tons and a utilization rate of 76.8 percent.
Compared to the same week in 2024, production rose by 1.8 percent from 1.709 million net tons, while the utilization rate improved from 76.9 percent.
Year-to-date production through May 10, 2025, totaled 31.066 million net tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 74.9 percent, reflecting a 0.9 percent decline from the same period in 2024, when production stood at 31.334 million net tons and utilization was at 76.1 percent.
