US domestic raw steel production for the week ending July 6, 2024, was 1.695 million net tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 76.3 percent. This represents a 1.5 percent decrease from the previous week, when production was 1.721 million net tons and the capacity utilization rate was 77.5 percent.
Compared to the same period last year, production was down 0.1 percent from 1.696 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 74.7 percent. Adjusted year-to-date production through July 6, 2024, was 45.569 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 76.4 percent, which is down 2.7 percent from the 46.813 million net tons during the same period last year, when the capacity utilization rate was 77.7 percent.
