According to SteelOrbis, US imports of hot rolled sheet (HRC) fell by 2.7% in September, totaling 118,662 metric tons, according to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce. This marks a significant drop of 96.4% compared to September 2023. The value of HRC imports was $92.6 million, down from $97.9 million in August and $188.4 million a year earlier. Canada remained the largest supplier, exporting 66,549 metric tons, followed by South Korea with 38,724 metric tons, the Netherlands with 4,434 metric tons, Mexico with 3,007 metric tons, and France with 2,498 metric tons.
