US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheet and strip (HDG) rose by 6.2% in August, totaling 134,234 metric tons, according to the US Department of Commerce. This figure represents a decrease of 3.7% compared to the same month last year. By value, HDG exports reached $193.7 million in August, up from $176.9 million in July and slightly higher than $192 million a year ago. The majority of these exports went to Mexico, which received 76,266 metric tons, followed by Canada with 57,416 metric tons. No other significant destinations were reported for US HDG exports during this period.
