The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has released its preliminary findings from an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on stainless steel plate in coils from Belgium. Covering the period between May 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024, the review examined the pricing practices of Belgian steel producers exporting to the US.
The DOC concluded that Aperam Stainless Belgium NV (ASB) did not sell the product below normal value during the review period. As a result, ASB was assigned a weighted-average dumping margin of zero. Additionally, the department rescinded its review for ArcelorMittal Genk, Fenixs Steel NV, Helaxa BVBA, and Industeel Belgium, as these companies had no recorded entries of the subject merchandise during the given timeframe.
The decision marks a significant development in trade relations and pricing regulations concerning stainless steel imports from Belgium. The final results of the review are expected within 120 days following the publication of these preliminary findings. Until then, stakeholders will monitor potential implications for international steel trade and any adjustments in duties or market strategies.
