In the latest industry updates, Ukraine has reported a slight decrease in its steel and pig iron production for the month of June. The figures show a modest drop in crude steel output, which totaled 734,700 tonnes, marking a 0.4% decrease from the previous month. However, this number still represents a significant 68.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
The production of pig iron followed a similar trend, with a 3.8% month-on-month reduction, resulting in 628,600 tonnes. Despite this decline, the year-on-year comparison reveals a robust 29.4% rise. These statistics reflect the ongoing resilience of Ukraine’s metal industry amidst challenging circumstances.
