Consumption of rolled steel in Ukraine increased by 23 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 863 thousand tons. Imports accounted for 38.9 percent of total consumption, with 336.1 thousand tons brought into the country.

Domestic production of rolled steel rose by 3.3 percent year-on-year to 1.43 million tons, while exports declined by 11.7 percent to 908 thousand tons. Ukrainian steelmakers significantly increased shipments to the domestic market, with 527 thousand tons of rolled and semi-finished products supplied, marking a 46.4 percent year-on-year rise.
