Ukraine has experienced a 9.7% decrease in its exports to the European Union in the first half of 2024, compared to the same period in the previous year. The total value of goods exported amounted to $10.97 billion, as reported by Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine, Taras Kachka.
This downturn reflects the ongoing challenges faced by the Ukrainian economy and trade sectors. Despite the decline, the EU remains a significant trading partner for Ukraine, with a comprehensive trade agreement in place aimed at fostering closer economic ties and integration with the EU market.
The decrease in exports has been attributed to various factors, including global market fluctuations and regional geopolitical tensions. The Ukrainian government and trade representatives are actively seeking measures to stabilize and increase trade volumes with the EU in the latter half of the year.
