Ukraine has the potential to become a primary supplier of direct-reduced iron (DRI) to the European Union. This development is driven by Ukraine’s significant reserves of magnetite iron ore and its strategic plans to build DRI production facilities.
The CEO of Metinvest Group highlighted that this move could integrate Ukraine more closely with the EU’s steel production chain, especially as Europe transitions to greener steel production methods.
