United Arab Emirates re-roller Conares has commenced trial production of wire rod and offered trial lots to the country's cut-and-bend facilities. The company produced 1008-grade wire rod with diameters ranging from 5.5mm to 7mm for the trial lots.
In addition to existing local wire rod suppliers Qatar Steel FZE and Emirates Steel, Sohar Steel in Oman has been offering wire rod in the UAE market since April. The supplying mills recently held their increases for wire rod prices in the UAE.
Conares Metal Supply Limited is a manufacturer of rebars and ERW pipes based in Dubai, UAE, with a total annual output capacity of more than 700,000 metric tons of various steel products. The company's rebar mill has a capacity of 500,000 metric tons and produces reinforcing bars ranging from 8mm to 40mm, as well as round bars from 14mm to 40mm.
