Turkey’s steel exports increased by 14.4% year-on-year in April 2025, reaching 1.17 million metric tons. The value of these exports rose by 6% to $813.06 million.
From January to April, Turkey exported 4.96 million metric tons of steel, marking a 17.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Flat and long product exports saw respective gains of 19.7% and 11.2%, while semi-finished product exports totaled 212,320 metric tons.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s steel imports declined by 9.1% in April to 1.35 million metric tons, with the value dropping 13% to $1 billion. Despite this, total imports for the first four months of 2025 rose slightly by 0.9% to 5.58 million metric tons.
Industry analysts highlight ongoing efforts to limit imports from Far Eastern countries and improve domestic competitiveness through policy adjustments.
