Turkey has significantly increased its presence in the Ukrainian rolled steel market. Over the past three years, the share of Turkish steel products in Ukraine’s total imports of rolled steel has risen from 19% to over 50%. In 2023, Turkish steel shipments to Ukraine reached 456 thousand tons, a 154.1% increase from the previous year.

This growth trend continued into 2024, with imports from Turkey reaching 408.3 thousand tons in the first eight months alone. The increase is driven by the competitive pricing and high quality of Turkish steel, making it a preferred choice for Ukrainian buyers.
