Tata Steel UK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JCB to supply green steel from its Port Talbot plant. This agreement marks Tata Steel UK’s first supply deal since announcing a £1.25 billion joint investment with the UK Government to transition to low-CO2 steel production.
The green steel will be produced using a state-of-the-art electric arc furnace, significantly reducing carbon emissions. JCB plans to integrate this green steel into its construction machinery, supporting its ongoing efforts to decarbonize its supply chain.
