Tata Steel Netherlands has reported a significant increase in both production and deliveries. In the latest quarter, the company achieved a 7% year-on-year increase in total deliveries, reaching 1.47 million tonnes. Liquid steel production saw an impressive 80% year-on-year rise, totaling 1.69 million tonnes.
Despite higher raw material costs, the company’s operational performance improved, with EBITDA turning positive to approximately USD 54 million. This positive shift is attributed to the start-up of the reorganized BF6 furnace, which has significantly boosted production capacity.
However, the European steel market faced challenges, including weakened demand and high levels of steel imports. The European Commission extended safeguards to address these issues. Tata Steel Netherlands remains optimistic about maintaining its production momentum despite these market conditions.
