Taiwan's iron and steel export value declined by 7.9% in the first nine months of 2024, totaling $12.19 billion, as reported by the Ministry of Finance. In September alone, exports fell by 7.8% year-on-year to $1.19 billion. Conversely, imports for the same period increased by 5.2% to $9.44 billion, with September imports reaching $1.04 billion, a rise of 5.9% year-on-year.
