Swedish crude steel production fell by 7% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2024. This decline was primarily due to a significant 41% drop in August output, attributed to planned maintenance shutdowns. In total, mills produced 3.04 million tonnes of crude steel during this period.
September’s output alone was 307,000 tonnes, marking a 3% decrease compared to the previous year. The maintenance shutdowns in August had a notable impact, contrasting with the relatively stable production seen in July.
