H2 Green Steel, the Swedish industrial scale-up, has rebranded as Stegra to better reflect its mission to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries. The company, which focuses on green hydrogen, green iron, and green steel, aims to leverage these platforms to reduce emissions.
With €6.5 billion in funding, Stegra is on track to launch the world’s first large-scale green steel plant in Boden, Sweden, by 2026.
The rebranding marks a new chapter as Stegra explores potential projects in Portugal, Canada, and Brazil, targeting locations with abundant renewable electricity and strong grid connections.
