European prices for steel hot-rolled coil have recently inched upward, supported by trade control measures and improved buying activity. The daily steel hot-rolled coil index for domestic, exw Northern Europe was calculated at €593.75 per tonne, up by €2.50 per tonne from the previous day. Market sources indicate that while trading activity is still far from booming, there has been an increase from the low levels seen at the beginning of January.
