In the first half of 2024, Ukraine's consumption of steel products increased to 2.03 million tons, marking a significant recovery amid ongoing challenges. This growth reflects a 10% rise compared to the previous year, driven by demand in construction and infrastructure projects.
Domestic production also saw an uptick, with steel companies producing 3.728 million tons of rolled metal products. However, imports accounted for a substantial portion of the market, highlighting the ongoing reliance on foreign steel to meet local demand. The outlook for the remainder of the year remains cautiously optimistic.
