Network Steel, a Spanish coil processing company, is set to upgrade its Coated Solutions plant in Aranda del Duero. The upgrade involves replacing two gas reheating furnaces with new generation technology, which will improve efficiency and reduce gas consumption. The project, valued at €2.5 million ($2.73 million), will commence in September and last for one month. Post-upgrade, the plant’s production capacity will increase by 30,000 tonnes per year, reaching a total of 130,000 tonnes annually. During the upgrade, operations will be temporarily halted, but there will be no layoffs. Negotiations are ongoing with workers regarding collective holidays or making up the hours not worked at a later date.
