Siderperu, the Peruvian steel producer, reported a net profit of PEN 177.0 million ($48.1 million) in 2024, compared to PEN 115.7 million in 2023. Net sales increased by 1.9% to PEN 2.429 billion, with a significant rise in gross profit by 52.5% to PEN 346.1 million and operational profit by 52.5% to PEN 276.8 million.
The company attributed the improved results to higher volumes shipped throughout the year, despite a minor decline in the average price of products sold. Siderperu, controlled by the Brazilian Gerdau group, has an estimated production capacity of 750,000 metric tons per year.
