Severstal aims to increase structural steel production to 178,000 metric tons annually by 2028. The company has expanded capacity with two new plants in Obninsk and Tula, adding 50,000 metric tons. Additionally, it acquired the Cherepovets Metal Structures Plant, which is undergoing renovations.
A major investment project in Orel, set to be completed in Q3 2025, will contribute an additional 48,000 metric tons of production capacity. Severstal has already invested over RUB 4.5 billion in structural steel production.
Executives anticipate that once geopolitical tensions ease, demand for metal structures will rise, creating new opportunities for developers.
