Saudi Arabia's Group Five Pipe Saudi (G5PS) has secured a significant steel tube contract with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) to provide welded spiral steel pipes for water transportation. This contract, valued at SAR 3 billion ($800 million), is a record-high deal for G5PS. The pipes will be utilized to transport water from Ras-Al Khair on the east coast to Riyadh, as stated in a stock exchange filing by G5PS. The agreement involves no third parties and spans 22 months, with the financial impact expected in the third quarter of 2024. G5PS, based in Dammam, saw a substantial 97.5% increase in revenue in 2023, reaching SAR 455.3 million ($121.4 million) compared to SAR 230.5 million the previous year. Operating five pipe mills, G5PS has a production capacity of up to 550,000 tonnes per year of spiral submerged arc welded (SSAW) pipe.
