The National Industrial Company and Chinese DHX Group have signed an agreement to establish the first integrated tinplate production plant in Saudi Arabia. Located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, the plant will produce up to 400,000 tons of tinplate annually to meet local demand and enable regional exports. The plant is expected to start operations by early 2027.
This project aims to increase local content, support food industries, industrial self-sufficiency, and economic diversification. It will also create over 500 job opportunities, strengthen industrial supply chains, and boost exports, reducing dependence on imports. The agreement was signed during the fourth session of the International Mining Conference in Riyadh.
