Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel GmbH, the distribution subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, has sold its Austrian unit to the Ecco Group. The Graz- and Gratkorn-based subsidiary generates an annual turnover of approximately €60 million and employs 84 people.
The sale is part of Salzgitter’s broader portfolio management strategy. Ecco Group specializes in acquiring and developing corporate divisions that transition to independent operations. Existing supply relationships with Salzgitter will remain intact, ensuring continuity in business operations.
