Romania’s long steel market remained flat in the week to June 27, with no significant price changes. Rebar offers from the country’s sole domestic producer stayed at €590–605 per tonne ex-works, while trader prices held at €590–600 ex-warehouse. Wire rod prices were similarly stable at €585–595 per tonne ex-warehouse.
The market slowdown is largely attributed to the summer holiday period, with most buyers refraining from restocking. However, there is some immediate demand for specific rebar sizes, which are reportedly in limited supply.
Import offers also showed little movement. Egyptian rebar was quoted at €505–510 per tonne CPT, and wire rod at €520–525. Bulgarian rebar remained at €610–630 DAP, while Turkish rebar offers declined by €15 to €475–495 CFR.
