Ukraine's Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) reported its production results for March and the first quarter of the year, with finished steel output at 6,200 metric tons, up 17.9% from February but down 41.3% year-on-year. Metallurgical coke production grew by 7.8% from February and 52.3% year-on-year to 24,400 metric tons. However, in the January-March period, finished steel output fell 61.0% year-on-year to 11,500 metric tons, while metallurgical coke production increased 52.4% to 69,800 metric tons. Ukraine's steel industry has been significantly affected by the war, with export volumes and sales geography changing due to the loss of vital logistics routes through Black Sea ports. Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland have become strategic partners for Ukraine's mining and metallurgical sector.
