Kazakhstan's Qarmet, previously known as ArcelorMittal Temirtau, has reported steel production of 3 million tons from January to October 2024, matching its total output for all of 2023. This achievement follows a significant modernization of equipment, including the overhaul of BOF vessel No. 1, which enhances smelting capacity and environmental standards. The plant aims to increase production to 3.5 million tons by the end of the year and plans to ship 3.2 million tons of steel products to customers. Coal production reached 4.7 million tons, with a slight increase in iron ore concentrate output as well.
