The Port of Liverpool has set a new record for steel imports, processing 702,000 tonnes of bulk steel in 2024. This milestone surpasses the previous record by over 50,000 tonnes and highlights the port's growing role as a hub for global steel trade.
The achievement follows significant investments by Peel Ports Group, including the development of a deepwater bulk berth and expanded storage facilities. Approximately 85% of the imported steel consisted of steel coils, destined for industries such as construction, automotive, renewable energy, and manufacturing.
Peel Ports Group continues to enhance the port's infrastructure and services, reinforcing its position as a key player in the steel industry.
