On January 16, 2025, Dr. Seifi Ghrib, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, visited the Algerian-Qatari Steel Company, accompanied by the Wali of Jijel and several national and local figures. They were welcomed by key executives including Mr. Adel Khaman, CEO of the National Iron and Steel Company, and Mr. Youssef Ahmed Al-Mohannadi, CEO of the Algerian-Qatari Steel Company.
The visit featured a comprehensive review of the company's progress and achievements in 2024, highlighting its role in strengthening the national economy and achieving self-sufficiency in iron and steel. The company has received numerous international quality certificates and achieved a turnover of 138.5 billion DZD ($1.035 billion) in 2024.
Plans for the second phase of the factory expansion project, which will increase production capacity to 4 million tons annually, were also discussed. The Minister emphasized the government's ongoing support and praised the company's bilateral partnership between Algeria and Qatar.
The visit concluded with expressions of gratitude and commitment to further cooperation and partnership for a promising industrial future.
