Italy’s Marcegaglia Group has taken delivery of the 2,000th mobile harbor crane produced by Germany’s Liebherr, marking a milestone in their two-decade partnership. The LHM 600 crane was officially handed over at Marcegaglia’s Ravenna site on July 8, 2025, where it will support high-volume steel logistics operations.
With a reach of 61 meters and a lifting capacity of 154 tonnes, the LHM 600 is now the largest crane in Marcegaglia’s fleet. It features advanced digital controls, ergonomic design, and energy-efficient systems that reduce production costs by 45% and power consumption by 35% compared to traditional models.
The Ravenna facility processes over four million tonnes of steel annually and plays a central role in Marcegaglia’s logistics strategy. The crane’s arrival underscores continued investment in expanding capacity, improving safety, and enhancing environmental performance.
