Lech-Stahlwerke (LSW), a German special steel producer, has successfully integrated an innovative torch-cutting machine for scrap at its Meitingen plant. This new technology, developed by Primetals Technologies, significantly reduces noise and dust emissions during the cutting process.
The machine allows for precise cutting of various types of scrap, including billets and bundles of rolled bar, enhancing the efficiency of scrap management and furnace charging processes.
Additionally, the system improves workplace safety by enabling remote operation and video surveillance. This advancement aligns with the ongoing green transition in the metals industry, which increasingly relies on scrap in production processes.
